Structural steel that lands on its bolts
Structural steel sounds simple until 200 tons arrives on site and one bolt-circle is 5 mm out. Then it isn't. HAIL invests heavily in upstream engineering — Tekla Structures 3D modelling, shop drawings, anchor-bolt drawings, erection schemes — so that what arrives on site fits, first time, every time. Workshop fabrication at our 33,000 sq.ft. Kalol facility runs in parallel with foundation civil work; field erection follows immediately. The result: shorter schedules, fewer rework cycles, and structures that pass first-time alignment checks.
What we fabricate & erect
Pipe racks & equipment platforms
Refinery and petrochemical pipe racks with multi-tier piping, equipment-supporting platforms and walkways.
Flare structures & chimneys
Self-supporting and guyed flare structures up to 60+ metres, lined chimneys for boilers and furnaces.
Silos & storage structures
Cement silos, fly-ash silos, grain and sugar storage, ore stockyard structures.
Technological structures
Reactor support, column platforms, exchanger structures, conveyor galleries and trestle bridges.
Industrial buildings
Workshop sheds, factory buildings, warehouses, PEB structures with cladding and roofing.
Electroforged gratings & railings
Walkway gratings, handrails, ladders, cages and stair stringers — supplied and erected.
Engineering, fabrication & erection
- 3D modelling & shop drawings — Tekla Structures, anchor-bolt drawings, erection sequence.
- Procurement — IS 2062, ASTM plates and sections to MTC; high-strength bolts to IS 1367 / ASTM A325/A490.
- Workshop fabrication — CNC profile cutting, bevelling, drilling, AWS D1.1 qualified welding.
- Surface treatment — shot blasting to SA 2.5, primer, intermediate and topcoat (epoxy, PU, zinc-rich, intumescent fireproofing).
- Despatch — packing list, weighbridge tickets, transport coordination.
- Field erection — owned cranes, surveyed alignment, torque-controlled bolting, third-party inspection.
- Final handover — as-built drawings, weld maps, paint DFT reports, dimensional surveys.

- Refinery-grade coatings and intumescent fireproofing in-house.
- Single-point — engineering, fabrication, painting, erection, documentation.
Frequently asked questions
What structural steel scope does HAIL do?
Pipe racks, equipment platforms, walkways, flare structures, chimneys, silos, technological structures, PEBs and industrial buildings.
Do you provide 3D modelling and shop drawings?
Yes — Tekla Structures (or equivalent), anchor-bolt drawings, erection schemes and as-built documentation.
Which codes and grades?
IS 2062 Grade A/B/E, ASTM A36/A572/A992, designed to IS 800 / AISC 360, welded to AWS D1.1.
Workshop or field erection?
Both. Workshop fabrication at Kalol runs in parallel with field erection by our owned cranes.
Do you do refinery pipe racks with fireproofing?
Yes — including intumescent and cementitious fireproofing systems and NACE/SSPC coatings.
